Hello! Welcome back to my blog. We’re welcoming Spring in with a new exhibition with my favourite online gallery. Follow the link here to see the new exhibition, and to have a nose at all of the brilliant work by artists I admire. I’ll be following up this post with a round up of my favourite works, but for now, here’s the nine pieces I submitted as part of the exhibition.
I was particularly inspired by Debbie George and her Spring time paintings of Snowdrops in beautiful cups. You can take a look at her work here. Spring is one of my favourite months, and is particularly noticeable in Orkney, as the days get longer and lighter, and the bulbs start showing their heads. Admittedly, Spring is a lot slower up here, and it’s taken a while to get used to the cold starts and crisp, icy garden. Down south it is already warmer, with flowers in full swing.
To celebrate the arrival of Spring, in all its lateness, I decided to base my work on Orkney and its landscape, bringing some of the landscape inside for my still life paintings: crocus, tulip bulbs and seasonal fruit. See all the paintings below, and for more details click on the image, or the link below it. For any enquiries, send me an email at email@example.com
